11/25/24
Hi All,

We wanted to take this opportunity to wish all of you and your families a very Happy Thanksgiving. This has been quite the year! And all of us working together has been a wonderful experience that will only get better as we become a bigger voice in the city.

As you all know, we have one more hurdle to jump, the City Council.  This draft #3 will put housing on our commercial corridors and not in our single family neighborhoods.  We hope NCs, HOAs, and individuals continue to send letters to each of your councilmembers asking for their support for Draft #3 of CHIP without Exhibit D as recommended by the PLUM committee last week.  We are close to the finish, please get your letters out, especially to those councilmembers that might be on the fence. They need to hear from you.

If this passes, our work together will now focus on everyone’s Community Plan which is how the Housing Element will be implemented. You will have better control on how your neighborhood gets rezoned in the Community Plans.

The Mayor was at our Sherman Oaks Homeowners monthly meeting and she clearly gave us a shout out saying she loved the Sherman Oaks plan that put housing on the commercial corridors and involved the community in finding solutions for more housing.  She was a community organizer and stated clearly that she feels we all should have “skin-in-the-game”.

Hopefully, you can get your letters out before Thanksgiving and that we can again see each other at City Hall when this Draft is finally presented.

With good wishes to all,
Maria, Cindy, Jeff, Marc
