This is just a reminder that SB 9 and SB 10 will be heard in the Government and Finance Committee on Thurs. April 22, 2021 at approx 10:30a.m.  It is important that we all show up to testify against these bills.  We have done a lot of work reaching out to the Senators on the committee and to all senators in general.  Let’s see if they were paying attention to our concerns.

The call-in number will be issued that morning.  If you go to senate.ca.gov, in the black bar at the top of the page you will see “committees” click that.  Find the committee, “Government and Finance” and click on that.  It will then take you to that day’s schedule and links to the hearing with instructions for calling in and with the call in number.

We have done a lot of outreach to these senators.  Your individual organization’s membership must be making calls now to your senators. There should be no doubt in your senator’s mind where your community stands.  The full vote of the Senate will be sometime the first week in May.  So keep mobilizing your neighbors.  We can’t let them open up single-family neighborhoods.

We will soon start engaging our legislators with solutions to affordable housing that make sense and help everybody. Ruining single family neighborhoods makes no sense. 

We will be sending out another email blast that will say “Where does Our Senator Stand?”  Hopefully you will distribute and do a follow up on how they voted. Everybody needs to know how their senator and assembly member voted.
