Dear South Shores residents,
I’m pleased to announce that the South Shores Community Association’s Annual Members Reception was an outstanding success.
A record number of 165 SSCA members were in attendance. Most seemed to agree this year’s event was the best of the past 15.
Many thanks to our hosts John and Lucrecia Jacobson for so graciously providing their beautiful home and spectacular ocean view grounds for this remarkable occasion.
Chef John Lang’s unique pizza menu combinations of potatoes, figs, tomatoes, olives and delectable cheeses were all a big hit. Host John Jacobson assisted at the wonderful outdoor oven. Other tasty dishes and desserts were prepared by JoAnn Scandaliato, Michelle Sheridan, Annette Brodsky, Rose Zatz, and Terri Poste. Wine, beer and other beverages were served up by Dave Billings and Jerry Gaines.
Music from the 5 piece band, “The Rumble” added perfect atmosphere to this very special day. This same talented group performs at the Corner Store each Saturday afternoon.
Among our guests were LA County Supervisor Janice Hahn and South Shores new Senior Lead Officer Paul Winter. Officer Winter and SSCA VP Bob Genest spoke about CyberWatch and its impact on crime prevention in South Shores.
Thanks to all those who worked on planning and helping making this event successful. Specifically, these include SSCA Board Members Richard Welsh, our Social Chair, John Lang, Annette Brodsky, Vern and Joyce Hall, Mike Harper, Dave Billings, Jerry Gaines, and Bob Genest, whose photos of the reception appear here.
If you attended and had as great a time as we all did, tell your neighbors about your South Shores Community Association. Tell them how SSCA works to preserve South Shores quality of life through advocacy, security and information.
And, of course, tell them how SSCA brings neighbors together at events like this Annual Members Reception. Show them the pictures on this website.
Maybe we’ll see them AND you next year!
Sincerely,
Richard Scandaliato
President, South Shores Community Association.
